Adcom GCD-575 Error message

This is my first post. Moderator, pls move to the correct forum if I have not posted correctly

I am given some old HiFi sets including floor standing speakers. The CD player is Adcom GCD-575.
I able to power it up. The drawer is working fine. Unfortunately it ends here.

Before I load in CD, the displays shows the usual stuff. But once I load in the CD, the drawer closes. Makes a small whirring sound, stop and the display panel shows a capital "E".

I have looked up in Youtube for troublshooting. The closest was by NorCal715. His demonstration was on CD stuck and drawer unable to open due to a broken rubber round belt.

I have also downloaded Adcom GCD-575 service manual. The copy I downloaded did not have error messages and the corresponding correctively actions.

I wonder if anyone can direct me where to look for Adcom CD player E messages and the possible faults.

I suspect it might be the laser pickup head problem. It will be great I can catch hold of the troubleshoot list.

Late reply to an old thread, but it may be useful to others looking for help on the GCD 575 CD player.
I have the same exact problem described in the previous post. The issue is the belt driving the loading tray. That same belt also lifts the laser head assembly to clamp the disc. If the belt is slipping, it may still be able to close the tray but not enough to lift the relatively heavy laser assembly. After a few seconds of whirring sound, the error E appears on the display. If the belt is really worn out or broken the tray doesn’t open at all.
There’s a YouTube video showing how to replace the belt on the GCD 575. It can actually be simplified but avoiding to remove the whole disc assembly from the chassis. Instead just disassemble the tray, clamp bridge and belt cover and easily replace the belt.
 
Yes, Luc67, an easy fix.

You can indeed do it without removing the whole assembly, but I decided to remove those three screws mounting it to the chassis to have more access and ensure I wasn't going to catch any components removing and replacing the right bridge screw. It also gave me access to the cam that operated the drawer and laser tray.
