Adcom GFP-565 Preamp

I had one in my main two channel system for about five years after owning the GPT-450 before that for fifteen years. Good gear overall - I could hear an obvious change in sound quality when I swapped the 565 for the 450. The GFP-750 is even better sonically, but demands a higher cost.
The 565 doesn't have a remote control which I missed a bit from owning the 450.
I have been using several lower end vintage preamps in place of the 565 while I save money for a 1000 to 1500 dollar pre and haven't missed the 565 much. Looking back, though, I wished I had upgraded sooner than I did.
