Hello folks,
This is my first post, so thanks in advance for your advice for a newbie...
I have (what-I-want-to-be) a nice Adcom setup, but it's really behaving badly. I thought it might be a bad interconnect, so I changed them all.
When I touch or tap the top of the GTP-400 (literally, if I set a pair of headphones on the case) I can get really loud popping and shrieking noises -- like the amp is providing feedback or buzzing at maximum power. If I try to re-seat the RCAs between the pre-amp and amp (or touch/re-seat the phono or aux connections) it does the same thing. Horrible, horrible noise.
I blew out the tweeters on my Phase Tech Euro 535's the other day. So I've retired the Adcom components until I can troubleshoot them. (I also ordered replacement tweeters <sadface>).
Any advice?
Best,
Dan
