Hi folks - I have an issue with the tuner in an Adcom GTP-500 from 1986. I searched the forum here and found some fantastic posts that helped me to replace CT104 (failed trimmer cap), though that only uncovered a different issue.
I am able to scan and tune the expected stations with the repair performed so far. The issue now is that when I hit a station, I get a thump and then the output is VERY low. All other inputs are good to go, with normal volumes. It is just the tuner (FM and AM) where I get some sort of (protection?) thump and then very quiet output. The tuning is nice and clear, which is better than before, but still not really usable in this condition.
I appreciate any responses as I hunt this one down! Thank you!
