Adding EQ to my chain

Hey all!

I've upgraded recently to a schiistem (get it) that includes:
-used Schiit vadar
-used schiit saga (OG not S or +)
-Schiit bifrost 2
- Schiit mani
and for sources im using a node 2i (plugged into the bifrost), a PS4 for movies, tv, gaming, etc. (also plugged into the bifrost) and a vintage Denon DP-50L i bought used in excellent condition this past year.

All thats coming out of a weird pair of vintage KEF speakers i also found used this past year (Model: C15's with matching C200SW stereo subwoofers)

I want to add EQ to my chain. I understand i can get a Loki mini + from Schiit but i'd really like to find an EQ that has a remote control. Do those even exist? I also heard that schiit may be working on a large Loki the size of a freya - sounds to me like it may end up coming with a remote (i heard talk of motorized knobs so either its remote controlled or just for saving presets, i assume) - if anyone knows any other details on this please let me know.

Are there any other EQ's i should check out other than the loki mini +?

Why do you think you need one?

What do you expect an equalizer to do for your system?

If the answer to either question is I don't know and/or just because, never mind.

In addition to the Schiit Loki there is the Rolls EQ570 Audio Equalizer @ $119.

Thanks for the response! So i'm not thrilled with the bifrost when using it with the PS4 - its fine, its just not exactly quite what I want, so i figured EQ would be great for this reason, as well as making minor changes to the EQ when streaming from the node 2i, as we all know how varied recordings are these days!

I would totally go with the Loki mini+ if it wasnt for the fact that theres no remote! remote is pretty important to me but if there really arent ANY options for eq with a remote, then the loki will be the obvious choice
 
For eq, I find the tone controls on my Blusound app plenty. I will bump the bass from .5 to 1.5 db, normally at 1db for my room. For treble, in very rare situations, I will bump it .5 db.

I tried this the other day but found i get the best results when I keep the output set to the max all the time, and for whatever reason, when you adjust the eq at all theres a pretty significant decrease in output - sounds much better when i keep tone controls off, even though i could definitely use a slight bass bump for my room as well

The decrease in output does not trouble me. I prefer it. I like having my preamp at 60-75% volume level at my maximum listening sol to get the maximum dynamics from it.

The Blusound tone control is also DSP. I prefer it to an analog unit in the signal path, normally.

That all makes sense for the blusound.

i honestly would be using the EQ more for the playstation than i would the blusound or my turntable. even with my stereo subs, movies just dont have the kind of bass i was thinking i was going to get when using the bifrost
 
Maybe you have something else going on. My Bifrost does not change the bass. It’s more dependent on the source I am feeding it.

Sorry, maybe i misspoke. I did not mean that the bass changes, but i think i was comparing it to my setup before i had my bifrost. I was using a vintage NAD receiver with a cheap (but decent) DAC i got from an audio shop for $65.

The bass for movies with that setup was great. Now that I use the bifrost for movies, im missing out on some low-end I feel i was getting out of the NAD. I'm happier with my setup now for everything else other than movies/TV

Someone has to say this. If you need a tone control/equalizer that has a remote, you might be better of with different gear,

I have no problem with anyone using an equalizer for any reason. I use a DSP.

However, requiring a remote for an equalizer is a good indicator of dissatisfaction with the sound of the system. If it needs that much continuous correction a gear change (speakers) may be in order.
 
My EQ is set it and forget it and I can bypass it at any time by getting up and hitting one button.
