Marchand Electronics makes an active crossover board that can be used for just a sub, but by the time you add an enclosure and power supply, you might just as well buy a readymade crossover. You can try the ART Pro Audio Model 311 active crossover, IMO very cost-effective at $109.00 from Parts Express. It has a dedicated sub out with adjustable frequency and level. Since the Model 311 has balanced only connections, you will need XLR to RCA adapters, also available from Parts Express. I've used two of these units, one in my party system, and the other to integrate a sub with my main system. I modified the connections of the latter unit, replacing the 1/4" TRS balanced connections with RCA jacks for convenience. I have zero complaints.
