Adding remote control volume to C28

I considered it on a C28 I restored some years ago. I've done 2 of them - my limit. Here's what I discovered:

- Cavity size: There are limitations on the size allocated to the volume control.

- Pot value: It is a bit odd-ball value so will be hard to find without some mods to the audio chain.

- Pot shaft length: This is the hardest one to find. You'll need the specific length and type of shaft.

Add all 3 of these limitations together and you've got a tough part to duplicate.

I passed on the project. Someone wanted the restored C28 worse than I did.

Cheers,

David

Prices on eBay have quickly jumped to $450-475! More than I paid for the C28! I may just stick with a manual volume. Wife says I need the exercise.

Indeed those asking prices are absurd. Of course none sell anywhere close to that. One just sold for the stupendously low price of $46 and change. (Item # 152847466085) I have no idea how that happened. Just the remote alone goes for $100.

Keep searching as stereocouple said. Audio Classics gets them in as well so keep checking.

**Make certain the remote is included! They're often missing.
