Adding speed or pitch control to turntables that did not originally have

Is there a way to add speed or pitch control to turntables that did not originally have it? Like the older Pioneer turntables the PL-12D and the PL-514? Using an internal pot? Thx for info

No, not without major redesign on the PL 514. AR and some Thorens you can (Music Hall Cruise Control works for those). PL 12-D might work with the Music Hall Cruise Control but not guaranteed.
 
The power supply side controllers work with turntables with belt or idler ac motor drive, but not other types using DC or direct drive motors.
