so, speaker level inputs & high level inputs are the same animal.
I see some imported subs w high level inputs - thats what I'm looking for.?.
No, not the same.
Line-level inputs are "fed" from preamp out.
Speaker-level inputs (aka high level) are fed from the power amplifier, via its speaker terminals. This signal is then converted, by the subwoofer, to line level.
In either case, the amp in the subwoofer ends up being driven by a line-level signal.

I'm in the camp with the others suggesting Y cables. I once used a low output Onkyo integrated amp with pre outs to run 4 separate power amps with Y cables. I Y cabled my Y cables. This worked fine for years with no problem. Cheap, quick and easy. Get the subs you want.
They probably have both RCA and speaker wire inputs.
Since you are using a stereo preamp without a mono pre-out I would recommend either 2 subwoofers or if a single subwoofer one with L & R RCA inputs (not just a single mono input).
This gives you the option of using speaker wire or RCA cables to see if you have a preference.
I looked at the back of that Vanguard sub and the speaker/ high level input is a special cable, looks like the inverse of what REL uses (male vs female cable end). So if you're buying used make sure the cable is included. The other end will have 3 wires. Left channel +, Right channel +, and a common -, This is for a single sub. If using 2 subs, connect one or both sub + to the speaker + for each channel, and of course the common.

Just in case there remains any unclarity, here's a rendering showing a sub that has both line (low) level inputs/outputs and speaker (high) level inputs.
Some subs may also have speaker level outputs too but most often those are simply convenience pass through connections, I.E. same signal comes from those as goes to the speaker level inputs.

Also Some subs that have a a high pass function use a set of Speaker level in and a set of speaker level out so that the high pass filter can be applied to the mains ..

As well, some subs may have high pass on line level outputs, but most times are simply pass though for convenience.
Either way, go on the presumption there is no high pass unless specifically stated in the manual or perhaps by the connections.
My old Definitive Tech sub has selectable high pass 50 / 100 Hz for the line (low) level outputs and a fixed 80Hz high pass for the speaker (high) level outputs.
High pass seems more prevalent on older subs, perhaps because there were fewer use cases where bass management was as common as it is today.

Thanks all for the ideas & info. I bought a pair of Monoprice subs direct fm Monoprice.
It was cheaper than Azon even w prime days & free Azon shipping.
Subs have "high level in" & thats what I'm going to try as I already have the wires, connectors, etc.
Now I have to figure out how to set them up.
