Adhesive used for duplex horn?

I have a 604b Hollywood that I purchased that has a duplex horn that is not attached.

I understand you use an adhesive to glue horn back in place but do not know what type.

would like not to mess this up. Also, any special technique used here?

CA will "frost" a smooth shiny plastic surface. I used GO2Glue for the clear slant plates. It has a ~20 min working time and you can wipe it off without it frosting the plastic.

The residual glue left behind almost has a rubbery consistency to it. I am not sure that a hard glue will be advised here. Let me take a pic and upload. Hold please...

I'd use clear or black silicone as it will have plenty of structural strength for the job, and can be easily removed from all but the felt dust cover.

FWIW, 604, and 604B horns are not plastic, at least not the same type of modern thermo-plastic resin as used in the injection molding of the sectoral horns of the later 604C thru G models.

The true multi-cell horns of the early 604's are made with a different compound and process.
 
ok, thanks Todd and Bowtie. I will use a silicone based adhesive. After looking it more closely it seems the horn has a couple of small holes that have a couple of pins from the drive that they slot into. The adhesive would seem as much of a dampening than an adhesive.

I use silicone quite often in and around electronics. Just remember it takes a long time to set up and cure. Resist the temptation to " see if it has taken a set". I let it be for a good 8 hours or overnight.

DAS a plan 300man!!

Crazy, I have 2 pairs of them now. What kinda crack am I on!!

Just picked up a pair of cab's from a buddy here on AK to put the others in that have the perfect size for them. I will get picks up later of them.
They have cane front grills and look sharp. Not an Altec cab but probably a close enough JBL cab.

Anyway, havin' stupid fun for sure...

Hahaha... I know, actually had a little luck shame. I mean, who has 2 pair of 604b’s??!!
