ADS 400 inquiry

[richd860]

Picked these up a few weeks ago,for next to nothing.Had to find the original woofers,as they came with some generic 4 ohm woofers.Found the original 0315 woofers, and refoamed them. Also re-clothed the grills, and sanded down the cabs, and refinished.I cannot find out alot of info on these. These are NOT the L400's,but just model 400.When were these speakers produced? What are the specs? What are they worth? The cabinets are 17 5/8 inches tall,10 inches wide, and 8 1/4 inches deep. They weigh about 18 lbs each. Thanks. Rich

I was told, that the ADS L400 surround was the correct surround. There is a gasket like ring, that is glued to the basket, and the outer lip of the surround glues to that ring.Similar to the original advent, with the masonite ring, but on a smaller scale,of course. The surrounds were available on Epray.

no one knows the specs of these speakers? Are they the same as the L400? When were these produced?

Hard to find specs on these as it's a bit scattered but I did some checking, found these links:

The info on L400's is readily available...the 400's not so much.

That pair sold for $125. Is that the going rate for these speakers? Mine are in the process of being recapped, and new binding posts put on them.

Hard to say...they don't come up very often.
