A buddy of mine is looking for some "killer classic rock" speakers to use with his Sansui 9090DB. I've found a pair of local ADS 910's for $450. They are supposedly mint with original stands. I say he should jump on them - right?

The other option is a pair of JBL L100s for $400 - in great shape. Also a good deal I think, and would be a classic 70s Rock pairing with the Sansui, but from what I've read the 910's are in another league.

:scratch2:

They are and that's a great price.

The ADS are much smoother and nicer sounding speaker over the L100 IMO. The JBLs are decent. YMMV

Let his ear decide.

OK looks like I talked him into the ADS! He's going to pick them up tomorrow night. Although he's planning on using them with his 9090DB, anyone know if are they efficient enough to work well with his Fisher 500C too?

910s - 93 db sensitivity
500c - 35 wpc

Should be okay unless he wants to go really loud (which he can easily do with the Sansui).

I have heard a LOT of great ADS speakers, and I think the 910s are the best. The only speakers I wish still had. I think that $450 is a steal for mint condition.

That is awesome to hear! These will be the first ADS either of us have heard, might as well start at the top. :thmbsp:

Really super excited to hear what these are all about...
