Thanks, Glenn. Yes, the Yamaha is in phenomenal condition, mechanically and cosmetically, especially after a thorough cleaning. They are a vey nice match, but I liked the extra power from my Sansui 5000x to run the ADS's. The turntable is the crown jewel. I've had rough luck with vintage tables of late, but this one worked perfectly, and sounds very nice.

Audax makes quality drivers and given the level of effort expended to install them I would imagine whomever installed them did so with great consideration.

OEM woofers are available used from time to time, or you might try and reach out to Richard So for replacements, he is the ADS expert here on AK.

Either way, if you like them, keep them and enjoy them, for $100 you could have done much much worse.

The Audax drivers have a Qts of .42, which is decent for the this application where they are in a sealed enclosure. I'd try to source the originals eventually as the enclosure and crossover were not designed around the new drivers, but I bet these are just fine for now.

Thanks for your comments. I did contact Richard, and he has some rebuilt woofers for $100 each. I'm not looking to put that much money into these, so I'll enjoy them as-is unless I can source the woofers for considerably less. Technically, I've only spent $33.3 on them, since I bought a receiver and turntable with them - all for $100. If nothing else, I have now been exposed to the ADS line, which has impressed me with the build quality and engineering that seems to be at a high level.

Not reviving an old thread, there is a set of 700 on CL, over priced....the woofer vs tweeter placement was a mistake on these so find a nice dome mid, make it fit, find the L710 crossover schematic and you just saved yourself a few hundred. L710's are through the roof on Fleebay. On to Audax they made anything from incredible to plastic 1/2" cheap domes found at Radio Shack, DCM 'Frames, AR. Their woofers were/are in some high end names like Vandersteen and Apogee hybrid ribbons. In case anyone wanders in.

A friend has a pair of L700 and is looking for a crossover schematic for these. The "sportsbil" link for that is dead - does anyone have an L700 schematic, please ?

Crossovers are not hard to figure out and create your own. ADS kept it simple. If a newbie to this, sport for any how to design your own speaker system books are great, also many resources at Parts Express and Madisound. Now a KLH Model 5 the one with 2 mids will bake your noodle....
