ADS L710 History / Revisions

I recently purchased a beautiful set of ADS L710s based on many recommendations (and also being a big Braun fan). Truth be told, I don't actually know much about the L710 other than it his highly regarded along with the L810 (and most other ADS speakers). Mine have the metal grilles and have rounded corners on the cabinets.

This got me thinking - is there a resource out there that describes all of the changes that were made to the L710 over time, from driver changes, tp cabinet changes, etc?

I'm not sure how many versions of the L710 are out there, but I recently picked up an early pair for restoration. Mine have cloth grills, square corners and spring terminals on the back. I'll have to check the serial numbers. I just received my crossover parts yesterday and hope to get them rebuilt this weekend.

Reading through some literature, it appears the first version of the L710 was released around 1974 and they look similar to mine. Another brochure dated 1981 shows the L710 updated with rounded cabinet corners, integrated binding post/crossover, and metal grilles. Have a look here:

You are going to love them. Post your impressions after you get to really listen to them.

Have their Braun brothers and a lot of other speakers have come and gone but the 710's are never leaving. Have helped me sell a bunch of gear over the years as they seem to make everything sound great.

Got them setup in my space and right away they sound better than the vintage B&O speakers I had in here. I'll need to listen to them some more for a real impression, but so far, so good.
