ADS L810 enough power?

Just got a set of ADS L810 they should be in the mail shortly. Question for you find people. I have a Pioneer SX-780 and a Marantz 2230 will either of these have enough power to properly drive these fine speakers. Not sure if this should go here or in Vintage Solid State. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

They will "drive" the ADS 810, but a reciever in the 100 watt RMS range will make them sound better. I drive mine with a pioneer sx3900 (120 watts)

They don't seem hard to drive at all.

Just got some time for a good listen to mine I picked up last week.
I'm using a 150wpc, Kenwood Power Amp.

I'm really liking the mids and highs on these. Bass is just a little tubby but a small adjustment cures that.
Still need to clean them up and refinish the cabs.

That looks like a nice combo there. Maybe I should give my smaller ones a run on my SX-3900 (currently powering a set of Large Advents--which it does "admirably").

I'm powering my L810's as I write this with my Pimaluna Prologue Five tube amp, and at 36 or so watts/channel and I can't remember them sounding better.

They can soak up some power; the more you have, the better.

A friend of mine used to drive his with a Hafler DH-200. They sounded great. Then he moved in with some friends and one had a DH-200 as well. They decided to have both amps bridged mono and use the pair for his 810s. The result was impressive. The bass was vastly improved.
 
You should be fine. I am driving my 910's with a Mac MA6100 (70 watts/ch) and it has no issues pushing these big guys well.:yes:

Dude, you'll be fine!

Be happy, those are highly competent speakers. Fast, punchy, tight bass. lots of woofer in that there box. GREAT power response, especially in the midrange.

ADS aren't "party speakers" they're more like "makeout/sexytime/coffee/teatime/groovetime" speakers. If you want to listen INTO them and not AT them, 20 watts would be fine. Theyre decently efficient.

They should sound great with those Pioneer Darlington Power Pack and Mosfet TO-3 designs!
 
It's not a bad starting point. They're flexible speakers but amps like the aforementioned Hafler 200 are ideal, IMO. If string quartets are your bag then low-watt tubes can also work well.
 
I love mine. Currently driving them with a Kenwood KR-9400 that really brings them to life. I have driven them with a Marantz 2238b, NAD 7100,
a 2230 and they still sounded good. The extra power does seem to fill out the sound more if that makes sense. Either way you will love them, congrats.
