ADS L810 placement and stands

I have a pair and I'm trying to get the most out of them. Right now they are sitting on the floor but I want to get stands. The original stands are about 10" tall. I found some nice looking stands on my local classifieds that are about 20" tall. Is that ideal?

Any other thoughts on placement?

Thanks.

A 10" stand with a slight tilt back would be ideal. It would look nice, more stable than a taller version and would time align just the right amount to get the mid-tweeters pointed
at your listening position.

The manual for my 910's says the stands raise the speakers 10 inches, but it's actually 7.5 inches for what it's worth. They sound unbelieveable!

810s on the floor? I'd hazard a guess this setup is not bass-shy :)

But yeah, the stands that came with them are 10" high and have a slight tilt to them.

Yeah a bit too much bass, so they probably don't sound as balanced as they should. The org stands are cool but pricey and hard too find IMO. I found some others that have similar square metal tubing leading to a more traditional stand "platform" they are 20" tall but should work. Im tall so my seated position might be closer to that anway haha.

Here is one of mine on a reproduction stand from a guy in Arkansas. They are a lot like the originals but are sand filled and very nice. I had the originals but lost them in a move sometime. I've heard some folks on here talk about the bass being boomy on the 810's but I don't hear that on mine set up like they are.image.jpeg

Wow nice stands! Where can I get a pair of them for my 710's?

they are hardwood, and spiked...i was just looking through all the used stands for about an hour before I found these....I think I paid 30 bucks...

Hi,

20" is way too tall. Seems though the angled ideal stands are not hard to find.

I had been using nice wood stands for my ADSL880's and Advents. I switched to that true vintage look of 8" high concrete blocks. Available 12" high also. Today bought a second set of 880's. The concrete is dead silent and stable and $0.89 each.IMG_20160802_174840.jpg

I am no expert and i bet you're correct but i measured and from my seated position the tweeter is at my ear level at about 21". Would the height negatively effect the bass response or soundstage?
