ADS M15: Upgrade or Disappointment?

I currently have ADS L630s that I am running with a pair of 70W RCA mono tube amps or a a pair of Crown D150A II amps bridged mono. The L630s are very smooth, detailed, with decent bass. I mostly listen to classic rock, country, and some classical once in a while. I like to crank it sometimes. There is a pair of M15's on CL that have peaked my interest. I know they were top of the line in the late 80's.
Sensitivity: L630, 91db M15, 87db
Nominal Impedance: L630, 8 ohms M15, 4 ohms (I would only be able to run 1 Crown D150A II with these unless it is possible to bi-amp them)
Drivers: L630 10" woofer, Dome mid, Dome tweeter M15 2-10" woofers, Cone mid, Dome tweeter
Room is about 12'x25' w/ 8' ceiling. L630's along short wall on tilted stands.

I have never heard the M15's, Just looking for some opinions. Do you think the M15's would be a significant upgrade to my listening experience or should I just stick with the L630s?

I haven't hear them, but I think they're based on the L1590's which have had at least one great review here. How much are they asking, and will you have a chance to audition them prior to purchase?
 
I would like to audition them but from past experience it is hard to tell until you get them home and hook them up in your own room. Also, the woofers on one of them are not working and they are asking $400. Everything else looks to be in nice shape. Seems like an ok deal depending on how easily and cheaply the woofers could be fixed. They also weigh 110 lbs. each. I saw some 1530's on CL recently that were gone in a couple of days and the asking price was $1,500. This is why I am asking. They would have to be significantly better than my L630's to be worth the effort.

Not the same speakers, but I have L780/2's and L1090/2's and I think the 780's have a bit fuller bass, but the 1090's are quite enjoyable in their own way. As you say, depends on the room and the rest of your audio chain.
 
The M15 are in no way based on the L1530s. Different drivers, totally different cabinets. A lot of people like the later M Series. Personally, they sound flat in the top end to me, since they don't use the same mids and tweeters as the earlier lines.

$400 would be a bit high I think in mint condition. Needing rare woofers would bring the price down significantly.
 
If the woofers are destroyed no doubt there's other damage that's been done as well. Crossover issues and perhaps prying little fingers have been in there replacing the tweeters with pyle automotive parts. Don't waste your time with them.
