Advent 1 vs smaller Advent

I have a cab of Advent 1 with no drivers. Does the woofer from the smaller Advent fit the same opening? Regards to all.

No. The Smaller Advent had a custom woofer made just for it. About 9" in diameter.

The Advent/1 uses the same woofer as the New Advent Loudspeaker which is the full sized replacement for the original Advent Loudspeaker.

In fact, both drivers in the Advent/1 are the same as the full sized New Advent. Just in a smaller cabinet.

So, those are the ones you want to fill up your /1 cabinets.

I just found some Advent/1s last month at the thrift and put in the original drivers....they are a very nice sounding speaker.

Gotta pair picked up years ago for $5 at a yard sale. Refoamed and sounded pretty good for just a quick check. Really need to set them up correctly to see what they're capable of.

Just picked up some Advent/1's from a very generous fellow AKer last month, and they're fantastic! So far, they're my favorites among the vintage sets I've accumulated in my own "vintage era," and that includes the highly rated Dynaco A25s and Boston Acoustics A100s.
