ADVENT 300 Power Indicator Lamp & pre / main jumpers

I was given an Advent 300 receiver that powered on, and the power lamp glowed, but gave no audio. That's because the pre and main jumpers were missing. I'm using RCA cables for now as jumpers. So the receiver is working great but the power lamp is out.

I have no idea what lamp is used or where to buy a lamp. Also, please give some advice on replacing the jumpers...inexpensively. I plan to sell the amp, and would prefer stock jumper pins.

The power indicator is a standard 5mm round red LED, which you could get from 'most any supplier. Avoid "high brightness" types. Orientation of the two leads matters - take note of where the "flat spot" is on the original LED, and orient the new one likewise.

I think most people DIY jumpers if they aren't content to use patch cords. Others will likely have better ideas, but I've taken to using "naked" RCA plugs, soldered on the ends of a short loop of soft copper wire from ordinary household Romex or similar.

Hey, thanks a million. Yeah, I've thought of DIY, but I went and Googled and everyone's saying the type of jumpers used makes a huge difference in sound. Oh, no, here we go again with the "expensive Monster cables sound better than Radio Shack patch cords" argument. Have you seen those jumpers that cost $150.00 from Jena Labs? Come on, what a joke. Anyway, have you ever noticed a dramatic difference in the sound of jumpers?

Not me, no.

It might be worth noting that the original Advent jumpers were made of steel rod.

I never noticed any difference unless the cables were in bad shape. The shorter the better is a good idea though. Remember thise jacks are there for a reason. To add a bigger power amp or different preamp, add an EQ, ect. All of those things need cables.
