Advent 5002 refoam and restoration

I picked up three Advent 5002 off my local CL about a week ago. The guy had three for some reason and didn't want to keep just one, so he gave me all three for $30. I've read about people scoring on these for a similar price, but I couldn't believe my luck. Needless to say, they need refoamed, and the cabinets are a little beat up (I'll attach some pics). My refoam kit came in the mail today, and I'm just about to dive in to that. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I am also hoping that somebody could shed some light on something for me. Two of the speakers are from before Advent was sold to Jensen, and one is from after (judging by the manufacturer address on the back, see pics). I'd like to use the pre-Jensen speakers, but one of the cabinets is in pretty bad cosmetic shape. The post-Jensen cabinet is flawless. Would it be a bad idea to put the pre-Jensen woofer and tweeter in the post-Jensen cabinet? Are the cross-overs drastically different, or is there anything else I should consider?

Anyways, off to my first refoam. Wish me luck...

I don't know, but my guess is that the same parts and XO are used. There's one way to find out.....

As far as installing a pre Jensen driver in a Jensen cabinet....I would do it, if it fits. If the cabinet dimensions are the same, there shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you use new gasket material (like weather stripping) to seal between the metal woofer basket and the speaker baffle. This is an acoustic suspension type speaker, so you want an air-tight seal.

Nice score. I love my 5012's Deep bass and amazingly clear tweeters.
