Advent Bookshelf 1 grill woes

I need to access the woofer on an Advent Bookshelf 1 speaker. I cannot figure out how to get the grill off. This is not the velcroed-on grills like my Large Advents. The butterknife method doesn't work, either. Accurate advice would be gratefully appreciated.

It appears, from the limited info found on that later version Advent model, the grills were non-removable.

I dunno, but judging from the pic on the right of the latter-day Advent 1's in the "identifying your Advent" thread, the grill looks similar to my Advent 5012s which can be pried between the plastic lip and the cloth with a flathead screwdriver.
