It is a pretty cool thing to have even if not up to par with today's newest. If cheap enough take a chance. They were extremely expensive back then and mostly bought by corporations, sports bars and persons with keys to the Playboy mansion.
Colors were washed out in a well lit room but in the dark there was nothing like it. Add a Laserdisc, Betamax video player and there you go.

Saw this in an estate sale ad, and wondering what it is. I'm pretty sure that says advent.

That's true. My buddy who is Henry Kloss's son was looking for one of the early Kloss Videobeam units and I found one for him. We went and picked it up together. The early ones must have been very expensive to build. The later ones were apparently built by Motorola and were less costly to build but still not cheap.
