Advent Grille Cloth On Ebay

Has anybody ever used that grille cloth that's always on eBay advertised as being a match for the original? It comes in 28"X16" pieces.

Is it really close to the cloth on original (masonite) Advents?

My pair of 1970 vintage Advents are awaiting replacements with just the black backing cloth on them now after I ruined the original front cloths trying to restore them. :tears:

The thing that's different between the Advent cloth and most of what you can find in fabric stores is that the Advent cloth has very consistant thread width through the length and breadth of the frame. It's 16X16 TPI, BTW.

The stuff in the stores mostly has variable thread width which is pretty obvious when you see it.

Thanks, Carl. I have read that thread but I need cloth that will match the original Advents instead of New Advents which, I believe are a little different color.

This is both because I want this pair to appear like they originally did and also so they match the other seven Advents in the room which still have the original cloth.
