Advent Legacy II : Minimum power for amp?

I recently picked up a pair of refoamed Advent Legacy II speakers.
I plan to use them in my co-op apartment's 20' x 20' living room.

I don't plan to play music loud enough to annoy my neighbors,
but I do wish to play it at well above background music levels.

I have several small integrated amplifiers rated at ~20 watts per channel.
Will that be adequate or should I be looking for a more powerful amplifier?

A lot depends on how loud is loud. I normally listen at 70 dB or less (measuring with a phone app). To me, 80 dB is really loud. That means I am using much less 1 watt for my speakers. If loud for you is 90 dB or more, then you will need much more power. More than likely, a 20 watt amp would be fine for apartment listening.

I had a pair of Advent Legacy II speakers. I powered them with a NAD 7240PE amp that was 40 wpc. The speakers sounded fine, even at deafening levels, but the NAD has lots of headroom.

Your amps have half that power, so you would have a 3dB drop in SPL, barely perceptible. If you do not have the headroom, you may not have as much bass punch, but in an apartment, that may not be a problem.

I purchased a recently serviced Harman/Kardon HK 505 integrated amp (60 watts).
That should be more than adequate for my needs. Thanks for your advice.
