Advent Legacy iii DVC woofer

I picked up a pair of Legacy iii for free yesterday. On the back there is an impedance switch for either 6 or 8 ohms. The woofers have two sets of terminals each. Both sets read 7.2-7.3 ohms on my meter. So if both sets of VC on the woofer are 8 ohm how do they switch to 6 ohm operation?
This is the second set of Advent Legacy I have picked up for free. The first set are Legacy ii
