Advent Prodigy Tower vs AR 18S

I currently have a pair of AR 18S that I use in my listening room and have always liked the sound. I have a chance to buy a pair of Advent Prodigy Towers at a decent price. Does anyone know how they compare to the AR's? Does anyone have these speakers? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Anyone know anything about the Advent Prodigy Towers? I can't seem to find any specs on these speakers.
 
THe prodigy towers are a two way system with 2 8" woofers and a soft dome tweeter.

They will out perform your AR-18s due to larger cabinet volume (more bass) They aren't too well known but those who own them will say they are a decent speaker

Well actually, the Prodigy towers have one 8" woofer, not two. I have a pair and I like them very much. I am not currently using them but I cannot bear to part with them. I rotate them in and out of my system all of the time.
 
The AR 18 family were all awfully nice sounding little speakers; especially for their modest cost.

I don't know the AR-18S per se myself. Does it, by any chance, look like this (these)?

Thanks for all the info. I decided to pull the trigger and purchase them.
 
certainly possible... there were so many suffixed AR-18's over the years, it's impossible for me, retrospectively, to keep up. These do have "Teledyne" tags on the back, interestingly enough (I'd have otherwise thought that they were post-Teledyne).

There was also a little one called the AR-48, yes?
