Advent Speaker Score

I just scored a pair of Advent 1008 speakers. The foam surrounds are shot though. I hooked them up to test before I decided to re-foam. Oh they were free. And they sound really good even with foam shot. I am really liking the sound. These are definite keepers. I love free. :yes: Cheers Dave

You are missing most of the bass due to the air leak from the long-gone foam and also risking damaging the voice coils from misalignment from the missing foam. Get a proper foam kit, repair them and enjoy.

I was thinking some tape might work for the time being. No no, just kidding. I was looking at Simply Speakers for the foam kit.

Also, how can one tell if they were pre or post Jenson. Thanks.
