Advent The New Loudspeaker fried egg?

I just had a fried egg tweeter fail. I am thinking about buying the new replacement from simply speakers. Has anyone done this lately? Will I be happy with the new sound? There is a fried egg tweeter on ebay right now and I am asking myself how long will that last. Any other ideas? I have seen the thread with the big horn tweeter which looks real good. I'm thinking that would be a fun project!

Have you determined it's not the resistors in the tweeter circuit that went kaput?

The 1 ohm and the 1.5 ohm are good. New cap and the coil is the original.

If you were a Subscriber you could be buying a tweeter right now from another AKer, and avoid some of the eb issues.

Check the speaker. You can switch them to confirm if it's bad. Those tweeters are easily available used. I probably have some here. I know I even have a green one. They're always on Fleabay.

Yes, I switched the two and confirmed the tweeter bad. The other one works, but there is a hole in the dust cap (cover) about the size of a pencil erasure. And yes, I have donated cash in the past I need to send some more in. I'm in no big hurry since I have six pairs of speakers on hand. I have replaced both resistors and cap in each speaker recently so I do intend on keeping them for some time. I think they sound good. Thank you for comments so far. I'm still debating if I should go new from Simply Speakers or get some original replacements from here or ebay.
