My lost friend and Yosemite junkie Dean Potter, who died doing what he loved in May 2015. A 7500' wingsuit jump with a friend from Taft Point, which ended tragically. We met once- 1999, climbed once with his fearless companion (in pic), Whisper.

The Keyhole Route, The Narrows section, Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. In the summer, this route is hiked without protection!! The "trail" in this section is only 18" wide in some places with a 1,000+ foot near-vertical drop. Definitely not for the timid. I completed this 16-mile round trip hike (including ~4,850 feet of elevation gain and then loss) in early September, 1980. This is a more recent photo (not mine).
