Advice on an an Yamaha CR-450

I have found a reasonably cheap Yamaha CR-450 at a thrift, but i think that i have quite enough recievers for now..
im happy with my marantz and harmnan, but im curious.. 13 USD..

whats the characteristics of the CR-450 compared to Marantz and HK??
the CR-450 seemed quite warm to me and that is one of the benefits..

pros,cons on the yamaha compared to HK, Marantz, soundwise??
worth the bucks??

For $13 USD I'd be all over that just to add to the collection. Even if it's toast it's eye candy if cosmetically sound.

I found in another thread

"The CR-450 is:

RMS 8ohm both channels driven 37+37W@1kHz
RMS 4ohm both channels driven 40+40W@1kHz
dynamic power 8ohm 80W
dynamic power 4ohm 120W

The C-420 is

RMS both channels driven 8ohm 25W@1kHz"

Yamaha doubled the outputs on the 450 to drive higher current. Guess people were blowing up the 420's running 4 ohm loads.

I'm with you guys....nice little receiver and should be a great bedroom or office stereo. those things look so darn pretty it would brighten up any room.
Oh yeah, they sound great, an old pair of Polk Monitors 5 or 7 or maybe some BA A60's or 70's and you will be stylin' as well as having a great rig...for under $100 :yes:
