advice on belt replacement b&o rx2 tt

i need to replace the belt on b&o rx2 tt. the motor pulley is located front left under the top plate, Looks like i need to partially remove the top plate to thread the belt. Is the top plate just seated into the base and need to be pried up with small screwdriver? thanks
