Advice on Denon DP 23F

I was given a Denon DP 23F turntable it came with an AT122LP Audio Technica cartridge minus the stylus. Could someone please advise me on how to proceed with outfitting this turntable with a new cartridge or stylus? My plan is to use this as the new turntable for my vintage Yamaha system.

Assuming the cartridge is good, there are various AT styli that will slide right on in 2 seconds. Here is an example -

Do you assume the cartridge is good or can you test somehow?

Cartridges are generally so reliable I just assume it is good.
