Advice on my next AVR purchase...

I currently run a Sony DN1060 AVR with a set of Elac Debut F6.2s with C6.2 center channel and an Infinity Sub12 reference woofer. It sounds good! Really, for what I paid I’m super happy. However, I’m coming from the world of separated and high end vintage gear, but I’m now having to support multiple non-audio nerds and multiple devices with a projector in the mix.

The 1060 does really good for all my media needs. Chrome cast built in, multiple HDMI out, etc... but when I just wanna listen to music I find myself hitting 70% or more volume and things start to fall apart.

I have an Oppo 103D which could do the deciding work, but I’ve had trouble finding a 3+ channel amp I like or I’m willing to pay the price for.

So, all that being said, what all-in-one AVR would be a good step up from the Sony for pure sound quality? 4K and Atmos and other fancy features are not imperative to me. Just HDMI (two outs if possible) and more and better juice.

I can get the Denon 3500 for $549 at my local fry’s, but I’m not sure that’s going to be a big step up sound quality wise....

I should also ad I was spoiled by using the Oppo and a Denon PMA-1080r with the F6.2s before I got the center channel. Jesus it was so good! However, since my wife heard the center channel it has become a “must have” and I am not allowed to go back to my lowly two channel setup....

Hard to say, the sony is rated at 100wpc into 6ohm (stereo). While the denon is rated 105wpc into 8ohm (stereo). So the denon definitely has more power. The denon also has pre-outs, so it's possible to get an external amp to offload a couple speakers.
