Advice on restoring a pair of vintage Yammies

There's a pair of Yamaha NS-690IIs for sale locally. They come paired with a CR-1020 and the guy is asking $300/OBO.

Here's the description of the speakers:
"This is a great system that produces warm, room filling sound. Or, at least it did before it went into (dry, moderate temperature) storage for a few years. The woofers need to be refoamed and the domes on the tweeters are dented in a bit."

I've never refoamed speakers before but I'm willing to give it a shot. Can anyone tell me how much work this involves, and also whether dented tweeters can be "undented?":scratch2:

There are many kits with instructions out there, some with good online instructions you could view right away. It is not a difficult task.
You could possibly take a vacuum attatchment and pull the dented dome out or take some good sticky carpet tape and pull it out with that. Worst come to worst you might be able to pull the face plate and get to the tweeter diaphragm, lift it up and push it out from behind.
The 690's are good speakers, you might think about getting some tuner spray and spraying down the level controls while the woofer is out for refoaming.

Someone posted a set of 690's on Craig's up here for $45. Looked in very good condition. They were spoken for within 5 minutes of the ad appearing.

Ya gotta be quick.

Don't be silly :nono: I sent them an email first and then I posted here. SAdly, that was this morning and I haven't heard anything back tonight. They probably are gone, but you never know...
