Wondering what all the fuss was about over the old Pioneer PL12 D Turntable, I managed to find one locally in great condition with a Shure R25XT cartridge and Shure 3X stylus.
I paid the princely sum of £17 for it.
Now then, I already have a Sanyo Q25 Plus series DD model, also in mint condition with an Ortofon cartridge of some description, numbers on the box are: CEC 15E , N15EO & NF15EO It originally had an FF-15E MKII stylus which has been replaced with an aftermarket elliptical one.
I can't really hear any major difference between the two TT's and wondered if it would be worth my time & effort swopping cartridges from one to the other??
Also which replacement stylus would be best for the Pioneer? I understand the Shure R25XT/3x combo was made by Shure for Realistic and is no longer available.
