Advice - Schematic says 4.7uf 10V but...

Yes, I understand that I can replace the cap with a 16V instead on 10V, however while doing a recap on my Marantz PM 550DC amp, should I adhere back to the schematic and replace the cap with the 4.7uf 10V (also I have ordered that cap but I can get the other one easy as).

I'm sure it will be fine but it appears to be the original cap so why would the manufacturer have a 16V in there while the schematic said 10V?

16v will be fine. I replace 10v caps with 16v all the time. More choices and easier to find. Your amp won't know the difference. Manufacturers make changes all the time without updating schematics. Maybe they were low or out of 10v at the time, or found a better deal on 16v, etc. I always replace with the value found on the board over the schematic though. Same goes for resistors.

I use 47 uf 25v to replace either of those. I don’t stock lower-voltage caps for anything under 100 uf.
