Hi, I am looking for a 115H-1 woofer, but so far the few I've seen seem to have a somewhat crumpled (non-foam) surround, its more like a rubber type of material. This might perhaps have happened due to having been stored face down on an uneven surface for some time. I would think that the voice coil should still be centered correctly, as keeping it that way would be rather the function of the spider ring.
Does anybody have any experience with this crumpling eventually returning to its original shape once the speaker is installed in the cabinet, or is it possible that it might affect in some adverse way the performance of the speaker? There don't seem to be any other visible flaws (tears) other than those flat/crumpled spots.
It obviously does not look nice, but guess I would be able to live with it as long as the speaker is not going to be falling short, specially on the occasional extended cone excursions.
