If it's anything like the spicy-hot soup/stew concoctions I had out in Western China I can see why it might be preserved. Damn tasty, but some of it packed a pretty good punch. :yes:
 
I wonder how the vessel was sealed, since the liquid didn't eventually evaporate. :scratch2: We know it wasn't Tupperware. :D ;) Yeah, some of that Chinese soup can make your eyes water. Very tasty though.

Seriously, that's a very cool find, archaeologically speaking (Arkay-oh-logically speaking? :D), but you sure wouldn't want to drink/eat that soup today! :nono:
