A friend actually had real Fuchs Porsche 5-spokes on his bug. He bought aftermarket discs and drums to accommodate the 5 lug nuts.

Sorry. He sold that VW 35 years ago. If there are any photos, they are in a box filled to the brim with old transparencies and negatives.

His car was a white 1966. Standard suspension and Koni shocks. Stock engine and exhaust. Craig 8-track with Radio Shack 6X9s in their own boxes.

When I was younger, if I didn't want to talk about work, I'd tell people I was a Volkswagen Bug radiator mechanic.

After everything went water cooled, I changed to saying I was a drummer in a bluegrass band.

Nowadays, I tell people I am a remote driver for Waymo.

Looks what parked next to my ‘69 bus @ Bolsa Chica State Beach yesterday - a ‘69 912 w/ 70k on the clock. 3 previous owners, SoCal car, original except for 1 repaint. Very tempting, possibly irresistible if it was a soft window Targa.
