Aiwa L40?

I've tried to search for opinions about this particular Aiwa deck, but even a straight Google search doesn't return much. Is this a bottom of the barrel deck? I'm looking locally for a vintage tape deck and so far have found the Aiwa L40 and the Sanyo RD 5008...anyone have any thoughts they'd like to share about whether either is worth looking into further? Thank you!

The Sanyo looks like a decent entry-level deck, not "decked" out much but probably fine to get started. We need a photo of the L40, it might be the AD-L40 which looks like one of their nicer two-headed decks from 1979 and could be a keeper.
 
sorry, yes, i believe it is the AD-L40. i was hoping to come across a thread with people sharing their aiwa favorites a la sansui or realistic or marantz, and maybe i did find a thread like that, but the L40 wasn't mentioned by anyone, which made me worry that maybe it's one of their duds. many seemed to say that in general, aiwa decks are particularly complicated to repair compared to other brands? i can't repair much, so i just didn't want to make a poor decision right off the bat.
