AK birthdays...

With 12,033 members and 365 days in a year, there's an average of 32.967 AKers celebrating a birthday each day, yet only 10 birthdays show in "Today's Birthdays" today. What's up with that? - Mark

This is the kind of stupid **** I think about......perhaps I need therapy. Guess I'll go post in the "Last post wins!!" thread again.

In reality, if you recall, I think it was New Year's Day,there were about a bazillion birthdays listed? I think that explains some of it- new members signing up and selecting the default starting point month/day as their birthday rather than listing it accurately.

These personality types also never send in their Publisher's Clearing House entry forms, participate in mall surveys, or donate a dollah to the Presidiential Campaign Fund on their tax returns.

I didn't notice that, but it makes perfect sense. Not much gets by you, does it?

Well, I never do any of those things either, but I did take a couple of seconds (does it even take that long?) to enter my correct birthday when I registered.

Well, let's see... money always rolls right on by. And women. The first is regrettable. The second is by design.

An orderly Southern gentleman- I knew you had redeeming human qualities.

There is a mundane explanation for part of what you so astutely observed. If you check the Calendar, in the toolbar, you will find that there are 22 members listed, whose birthday falls on today's date, yet only 10 appear at the bottom of the forums index page. The lengthy inactivity of the other twelve causes them to be filtered out of the listing.

(Jan. 1 - 214 birthdays listed.)

Add that to the number of members who removed their birthday from their respective profiles, after completing registration, and we end up with about 4K names listed per year.

The previous post should not be construed as rebuttal to tentoze' last post. I do agree with his description of your character.
