AK header logo size changes with login state

On windows, running latest firefox, and also on an iPad using latest Safari browsers I'm seeing an odd behavior.

Before logging in, the AK logo renders at the correct size. (I think it's 519x40 pixels)

After logging in, the AK logo resizes and become VERY small.
(note that I am using the dark theme and the colors change appropriately after logging in)

I looked at this a bit more closely with firefox's built in web tools. Found the following:

It looks like something is forcing the logo image to render at 100x36 pixels?

Looking at the page source...

Not Logged in, it's using "aklogo.png"
HTML:
<img src="/forums/styles/default/xenforo/aklogo.png"  width="" height="" alt="Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums"  />

Logged in, it's using "aklogosm.png"
HTML:
<img src="/forums/styles/default/xenforo/aklogosm.png"  width="100" height="36" alt="Audiokarma Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums"  />

No idea what's causing this but thought I would pass it along.

I have messaged AK about this and crickets . . . Sucks because I click on that like 20 times a day as an AK "home" button.

I'm logged in at all times, but on a mac MacOS Tahoe, using Chrome, it doesn't seem to be a problem.
I also fired up Firefox, made sure I was logged out, and it appears to be the same thing.
No, I did not View Source - but you can see there may be a small variation, but the logos look pretty much the same ...

Note: I am not using the Dark Theme - maybe some issue with that?

(upper is chrome logged in, lower is Firefox not logged in

And below is Safari - not logged in.

I logged in a moment later and again, I saw no major change in size ... (didn't screen cap it)

Well, there is an ACTUAL HOME Button on the menu bar to the left of the Forum button.

A small logo is important on small screens. On desktop, try increasing your window size and you may get the larger logo.

I was told "The logo size change takes place to accommodate the sponsor ad. "

I use the wonderfully effective "uBlock Origin" plugin for Firefox, so I never see any ads on AK.

I have zero respect for our local newspaper, who frequently allows an advertiser sticker to be placed covering part of their masthead. I see it as prostituting their should be proud and dignified identity. Kind of like a NASCAR driver putting a Pennzoil sticker over their face. I hope AK is not doing the same thing by making the logo as microscopic as it shows in my browser:

AK does run ads to pay the expenses of maintaining a hugely popular international website with a lot of viewers,
working to keep foreign spammers and AI bots off the site.
If you are not a subscriber helping to pay the expenses of running the site,
there are additional ads placed to try and recover some of the costs of running the site ...
Thats kinda the basics of how websites work.

AK logo gets significantly smaller when in "Shades of Gray" mode, or Dark Mode. I just confirmed it myself by changing from "AudioKarma" to "Shades of Grey," then back again.

Well, it sounds like there is a very simple solution to your "problem".
if the logo size isn't what you want when using Dark mode - stop using Dark mode.

Frankly, I have Zero respect for someone whining about AK's layout who is using an Ad Blocker to cheat AK of ad revenue.

At the end of the day, I don't really care if AK is proud enough to display a large logo in all possible modes or not. It's not my "problem". I really don't care either way. Just thought AK would take more pride- They should, and I would. I'm sorry you feel that is whining. I'd rather use dark mode that I can read than see a large logo. And again, anything to deflect away from what should be a trivial fix we took the time to point out. Sorry I brought it up.

BTW- There are many forms of contribution beyond letting unsolicited ads have their way with my eye holes, or the $25 subscription rate. I spend literally hours every day either writing detailed high quality educational how-to build threads, or offering dedicated technical help and advice to the many AK users who predominantly find value in AK because of exactly that type of technical assistance. (Feel free to check them out.) All of this effort attracts and benefits many more users than just myself, who do see these ads and who do have the funds to subscribe, and I would like to think hundreds of hours of my labor benefits AK substantially more than my $25. If you feel that is not so, please let me know.

I do love AK, and more so the community of awesome users, and take great pride in contributing in the way that I am able. I have spent time at a lot of your competition, and frankly, it's the users that bring me back and keep me here. Nowhere else compares. That's a house that deserves to look nice. right?

Your contributions are greatly appreciated. I’ve seen how patient you are with folks trying to learn.

Thank you, for the very kind word. I was (and still am) one of those- I learn so much here, the least I can do is "pay it forward".

I am a subscriber.
I posted this merely to point out a simple config/code error that makes the site less visually awesome for those of us who use dark mode.
I did not intend to start any controversy.
(I was viewing this from a, possibly naive, "hey there's a bug, let's help them fix it" perspective.)

EDIT:
....and then I realized I quoted/replied to a post that was directed at someone other than me. Some days I cannot "do internet well".

I confirmed this as well. In "Audiokarma" (regular) mode I get the small logo on mobile but the larger one if I switch to desktop mode in same browser. In "Shades" (dark) mode, though, I get the small logo for both mobile and desktop.

Just switched my Apple Macbook Air running Chrome to Shades of Grey theme. Looked exactly the same with respect to ads, but darker background and probably different color font.
