Dear colleagues,
I want to know your opinion. Maybe you have an experience with this old amps/receivers. I have 2 prong unpolarized plug connection. I opened up and see the blue (hot I guess) and brown (neutral). The neutral is connected to chassis through 2.2Mohm. The chassis is the ground. I checked through all this receiver the ground is connected to chassis. I wonder if I can replace the 2 prong plug to the regular 3 prong plug and the ground wire connect to the chassis. What do you think may it improve the noise issue? Or it's better to leave it as it is? Or I will blow everything if I connect the ground of the 3 prong plug to the chassis ?
Since it's unpolarized plug I never thought about the "right" connection of this plug to the mains. Do you think it's important to connect the plug "right", i.e. the blue wire to the hot and the brown to the neutral?

One more thing I saw that there is a wire which usual identified as a wire of ground (you know, yellow with green wire) just soldered to the chassis and other side is not connected to anything. Maybe this is the sign that this cable I can connect to the ground wire of 3 prong plug? As I remember this wire was not connected to anything. Or I need just to remove this cable? Otherwise I dont understand why some one just soldered this cable to chassis?

By the way, maybe someone has a scheme of that receiver? Because I found similar scheme (akai aa-6300) but not exactly the same scheme of aa-6200.
