Hi! My Akai CD-A7 was playing and tracking fine before I touched it
I took the cover off to spray the output volume slider to fix static. While the lid was off I touched up a few solder joints that had rings.
Now as soon as I power on the player the disc spins at full speed and does nothing else. You can eject the disc and it drops it spinning fast onto the tray and the spindle keeps spinning with the tray open.
I noticed (after) the service manual says to ground your soldering iron to prevent static damage to 3 listed IC's ... Have I killed it by not grounding my soldering iron??
Any tips for a novice?
Thanks in advance>
