The 625 was my first deck, I still have it and love it. Lately though it's developed an intermittent speed issue. I think I remember reading something about a high power drive transistor that fails over time in the control servo circuit.
 
Yes l like them all. Especially the PR99. That's a diamond in the rust. Gotta see that when you get it all done up. :thmbsp:
 
I've been looking at all three of those Akai decks on Ebay. I have about 50 NOS brown oxide tapes, and thought I would set it up for those. I got a 625, but the main board was broken in shipping.
