Akai GX-220D Reel to Reel

I have a Akai Gx-220D reel to reel..it is old around 1970 but in very nice condition..it played fine put it away in its box..Now trying to play this tape deck.
I have a problem with the speed ...in play mode it seems to be in rewind or fast forward..(play is to fast..)...any help?? thanks Phil

auchhh.... think you have to find out if the mechanic is ok - this model is one of them where the pinch roller mechanism can get sticky , and the pinchroller doesn't apply correct preassure against the capstan
 
thanks any ideal to fix..I did a cleaning still the same..this deck is very clean always kept in a box ...I want to keep this deck..have so many tapes from the 60s and 70s I would like to play again.......Thanks Phil
