Hi all - I have a strange tape speed problem. I'm trying to calibrate the tape speed on this deck, but for some reason the 3 3/4 speed adjustment is acting up. In the reverse direction it seems to work just fine. But in the forward direction it has no effect.
How I got to this: I'm using a calibration tape (I know I should have a speed calibration tape - but that's all I have). Now at 7 1/2 IPS I get spot on 1k tone in both directions. So at 3 3/4 IPS it should be 500hz, and in the reverse direction it is. But the forward direction is stuck at 850hz and the trim pot has no effect.
Anyone got any suggestions where to look?
