Akai gx-635d transistor replacement...

Can someone please tell me which transistors need replaced on the AKAI GX-635D's and where they are located ?? Pics are always appreciated Thanks so very much !!! Dan

I do not understand.

It a common issue in this and other AKAI RR decks.

I have the same deck, same issue...collecting dust.

The transport seems to work perfectly.

Here are the ones I replaced - and fixed my low/no output.

Replaced TR3,4,7,8,9,10 - including the 'B' of each. Wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, except TR 7B and 8B located under a switch. De-soldered and removed the old ones and mounted the new ones on the 'solder side' of the board. Just need to make sure you get the polarity right.

I believe there are 14 in that deck. going from memory tho so take that for what its worth. Last GX-4000D I did had 14, GX-630DB had 18 due to the Dolby pcbs. Double check...:yes:

Just picked up another 635D last weekend. If I EVER get the mildew smell out of it,

I'll bring it in and go thru the machine. I'll let you know.
