AKAI SW 155 recap

I like your Kenwood Amp ? and for sure JVC Receiver
Thanks, the JVC is a monster! Old school quad loads of power. The Trio is a favourite, real nice sounding amplifier top shelf. When you gonna get round to setting up your speakers? What amplifier are you using?

I have them all hooked up and they sound crazy good, I was so surprised, I have had other 70's Japanese Speakers and I like them for there cabinets and grills, it was a time that these were all the rage, but most of them had large woofers that barely put out any bass and normally they sounded a little boxy. Had Sansui, Pioneer and Kenwood, of those the smaller Sansui sounded the best, but these crazy Akai's are giving my sons very pricey speakers a run for the money. I am using them with a vintage Technics SA-1010 120 Watts Per Channel, New Class A, the combo sounds shockingly good.

Any help appreciated; I have a pair of Akai SW-155 speakers that I recapped because the tweeters didn't seem to be working. Now the CT-45A works a little better than before, I mean they just don't seem to put out much sound. I don't hear anything from the HT45 before and after the recap. I was wondering how to clean the High and Mid level controls as they have some static when turning them up and down. Here are pics of the caps used for replacement and more. Also does the voltage difference matter on the replacement caps? How close do I need to be on the cap numbers?

I took the back off mine and one of my controls was already missing the back, sprayed that one real good with de-oxit and of course move the know gently back and forth, the other control was still sealed, so on it I just sprayed from the back after carefully taking the plastic knob off, instantly fixed my issues. They are working well now.
Good luck with yours. There are a lot of members on here that know a lot more about this stuff than me, but I have gotten pretty good at the De-oxit cleaning part.
