Sounds cool...will a disc or compilation file be available to members/subscribers that cannot attend the Fest?
 
Are you looking for just any tunes, or tunes that are of reference audio quality appropriate for demoing a system to its fullest extent? I think I've only got one song that is useful as a tool to gain insight into an audio system, the rest are just for fun. A lot of my songs were first recorded on VHS Hi-Fi, so they lack a bit of fidelity.

Also, what's the deadline on this?

All songs are done in the typical Kris style - all live with no overdubs. What you hear is what was performed in one take.

This is an 11 minute excerpt from a 120 minute (yes, two hour) song designed for those long car trips. The actual name of the original song is 'The ABCs of the Center' and is basically more of the same presented here, but with other instrumentation throughout. The samples come from a Perry Mason episode about an unscrupulous doctor who sells children to rich people. I was working through some issues with an ex-girlfriend, hence the rather dark tone of the series of samples presented here.

With almost 15 minutes of playing time, I can afford an intro that lasts nearly five minutes. The title hints at the heavy use of the arpgeggiator, which is of a pattern I happen to like. Thick layering of sounds makes this tune full of unique audio.

This is a fun little tune that has a bit of eerie and spooky feelings. The vocal sounds (2:48) are from a synth that models human speech as opposed to samples of speech. This gives it a very organic sound, but difficult to make it say exactly what you want it to. Because of the bass line, this song has turned into an audio system test tune. The kick drum that starts at 0:36 into the song is pretty deep, but the bass line that starts at 0:59 is the real acid test. There is actually a pitched melody in the bass line. Most systems can't even reproduce these low frequencies, and if they can, they all come out at the same pitch (one-note bass). You can hear the effect with most headphones (the bass line melody). Oh, and simulated vinyl scratches were added for fun.

One of my favorite tunes, this one includes samples of Arnold Schwarzenegger. In this particular movie, Arnie had difficulty in saying three M-words in a row (molested, murdered, and mutilated) and I just had to capitolize on it. The drums at the beginning start out a bit thin sounding, but get fuller with layering more taiko drums for a rich thump.

You made money ! wow, I think of how much I spent on recording gear when it it was expensive. I could have started an audio company with all that money :)

Not a problem on fidelity, more fun to play. Turns out I will only have my GF studio monitors with me as speakers, so should sound a lot like how your heard it, but with tubes in the chain. VHS-HiFi is still probably one on the better recording devices out there IMO.

I'm starting to put it together now, I guess the deadline would be a few days before the show, but if you can get at least an MP3 of your songs to me somehow, I can find a place for them.
